Jean Emily Cook Jewell passed away peacefully on May 7th at her son David’s home in Kingsport TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Keith LaVerne Jewell (2005) and brothers Francis (1999) and Don (2015). She and Keith shared 58 years in marriage including retirement in Sun City CA. They were blessed with 2 sons and 3 grandchildren.
In addition to raising 2 sons, Jean pursued careers outside the home. First, she ran a cake decorating business. She worked 5 years in retail, 25 in banking and 20 more in volunteer service to the library in Sun City, CA. She finally retired at the age of 85.
A graveside service for family and friends will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, IN on June 9, 2018, at 11:00 AM. As this is planned to be a simple service, consider making a donation to Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice (smokyhhc.org) or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
