James Edward Johnson, Sr., 73, passed away on February 24, 2021 at home.
He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 1 st , 1947 and moved to Kingsport,
TN in 1996.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed working on cars, drag racing,
and roller-skating in his pastime.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 22 years, Diane. Grandparents;
Grandma and Grand-Dad Johnson, Parents; Harold and Sis Johnson, and his
Brother, Butch Johnson.
He is survived by his siblings: Ann Schaffner (Butch), Charlotte Smith (Georgie),
and Frank Johnson.
Children: James Johnson, Jr. (Emily), Tonia Johnson, Bonita Poore, Tommy
Johnson, Bill Johnson, Eugene Johnson (Sherry), Crystal Smith (Stephen),
Kenneth Johnson (Rachel), Jennifer Schlereth (Mark), Michael Johnson, and
Eddie Johnson.
27 Grandchildren and 24 Great-Grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ, 501 Bell Ridge
Road, Kingsport, TN on March 3 rd , 2021 beginning at 4:00 PM.
