James Hughie Godsey, Sr, age 77, of Kingsport Tennessee passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Lokiel Godsey; wife, Sandra Godsey; daughter, Lokiel Burnett Godsey; sisters, Mable Murray, Betty Robinson and Sylvia Miles; Brothers CJ Godsey and Bobby Godsey from Kingsport Tennessee.
Survivors include sons: James Hughie (Jimmy) Godsey, JR of Kingsport Tennessee, Mickey Godsey, wife Stacy of New Hope, AL, Mark Godsey and wife Emily of Grant, AL; Grandchildren, Bryant Kirkwood, Holly Godsey, Emma and Ethan Berryhill. Reece and Shepard Godsey; brother, Robert Godsey and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to all friends of family and to all the men at Stoney mountain golf club in Guntersville, Alabama for all the good times he had there with everyone playing golf!! James was a great golfer, a diehard Tennessee VOLs fan and he was a drywall finisher for years. He would always have a smile on his face and give you a hug when he seen you!
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday February, 24, 2021 at 6PM at Trinity Memorial Centers, and the family will visit with friends one hour prior to the celebration.
