Earl Hendricks King, age 89, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Asbury Place in Johnson City, TN.
He was born in Kingsport, and had fourteen brothers and sisters. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, loved gospel music, and was a member of the choir which he loved. He loved people and enjoyed making them laugh. He never met a stranger. Mr. King was a master Barber from a young age, and owned multiple barber shops throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy H. King.
Surviving are his children, John King of Kingsport, Carole King Hough and husband Mike of Atlanta, GA; and Morgan King and wife Linda of Kingsport; grandchildren, Bryan King and wife Beth, Jason King and wife Kellie Wallerstein, Kris King, Jay Smith, Jessica King, Ben King and wife Aprill, Eliza Chidester and husband Devin; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a precious friend, Howard Hobbs.
A lightly catered gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 5-8pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Trinity Memorial.
