David Allen Long, 55, he was a resident of Kingsport all his life. David went to be with the LORD on September 12th, 2021 following a brief illness.
David’s love for the LORD and his family was above all. He attended Fairview Holiness Church. When he would sing at church the residents around would hear him praising the LORD with his song. In his younger years he worked at Kingsport Milling and Grand Home Furnishings. His love for coon hunting was passed onto his son. David cherished his grandchildren and his eyes would light up when he seen them. David was a very special person and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alfred and Gwendolyn Long; brother, Pete Long; sisters, Patricia Perkins and Helen Long
Left to cherish David’s memory is his wife of 32 years Lisa Long; son, Anthony Hammonds; special grand-daughter, Kilynn Hammonds; four other grandchildren, Zeke Hammonds, Bentleigh Hammonds, Jeriah Derrick, and Sincere Gillenwater; brothers, James (Charlene) Long, Jerry (Lorrie) Long, Jack (Debroah) Long, and Scott Long
A graveside service will be held at East Tn cemetery in Blountville Friday 24th at 11:00, pastor Rev. Roy Brickey will be officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
