Darrell (Jack) Jackson Shelton, 51, passed away Thursday November 7, 2019 with his loving wife of 15 years, Sarah, by his side. He was born to Dianne and Darrell R. Shelton of Kingsport, on March 17, 1968.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne J. Shelton; his mamaw, M.A. Shelton; his granny, Hilda Jackson; and his papaw, Charlie Shelton.
Surviving Jack is his wife, Sarah Shelton; stepsons, Phillip and Chris Laster; his father, Darrell R. Shelton; two sisters, Donna Croft and Diana Lopez; a brother, David Shelton; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had an especially close relationship with his grandson Jacob. Jack was also an avid sports fan, rooting for the New England Patriots and the South Carolina Gamecocks in particular. Also, Jack treasured time spent with his fur children Tyler and Chubsey, and his fur niece Lita. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army and served in multiple locations.
Graveside services will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1pm on Friday November 15th with full military honors provided by American Legions Hammond Post 3 / Gate City 265.
