Barbara Jean Brooks, 59, passed away at her home in Kingsport after a lenghty illness on January 15th 2020.
Barbara was born in Wise Co Virginia on March 1st 1960. She was adopted at age 5 by Lois and Henry Stallard. she attended school is Wise County until she moved to Kingsport in 1978. She lived most of her adult life in Kingsport, retiring from Holston Valley Broadcasting. She loved her job and work family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her adoptive father, Henry Stallard and her two infant grandchildren, Jocelyn and Abigale. She is survived by her husband of over 3 decades, Daniel Brooks Sr, of the home, her children, Holly Parmer and husband Jamie, Ivy Vaughn and husband Michael, Andrew Allison, Beverly Brooks, Daniel Brooks Jr and fiance Camina Smith, Jessica Powell, Audra Brooks and Racheal Brooks, all of Kingsport. Barbara’s greatest love was her legacy of grandchildren, all of whom she loved with her whole heart; Brittanie, Gabriel, Gillian, Allie, Ava, Adrianna, Kierra, Cierra, Morgan, Hailey, Andrew, Hannah, Alivia, Daniel, Skylar, Aiden, Micah, Isiah, Riley, Matthew, Seanna, Amelie, Duncan, Cayden, Aribella, Colton, Gage, and Kilie and her great-grandchildren Kenyon, Marlie and Jensen and well as many that she raised, sheltered, cared for and loved as her own, and her siblings, Sandra Long of London, England, Patricia Gass and Harold Stallard, both of Wise County. She would also have liked to mention she had many, many friends but her lifelong and most enduring friendships were with Fred Falin and Karen Bridges, both of whom meant the world to Barbara.
Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, January 17th at 6:00 at Tabernacle of Praise 2055 Granby Rd Kingsport.
