Ann Kabler Philbeck Stallard

November 16, 1941 - June 10, 2018

Ann Kabler Philbeck Stallard, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, at the age of 76.

Ann was a life time resident of Kingsport, TN. She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School (1959) and the University of Tennessee (1963). She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and was married to Harry E. Stallard Jr. there on December 22, 1963.

Ann was beloved by many and was a dedicated wife to Harry for 54 years. She was a mother to 3 daughters and a proud grandmother of 8. Ann served with Girl Scouts of America as a Troop Leader from 1975-1984. She was also very active in the Meals on Wheels program for 30 years.

Ann is preceded in death by her mother, Catharine Kabler Philbeck; father, Robert E. Philbeck Jr.; and brother, Robert E. Philbeck III.

Ann is survived by her husband, Harry E. Stallard; three daughters, Christine Stallard-Matiz (Ernie), Lawrenceburg, KY, Amy Stallard McDaniel, Arlington, TN, Ginny Stallard Andrews (Brent), Nashville, TN; and Brian McDaniel, Arlington, TN.

Ann’s eight grandchildren, Edward Price Stallard (29), Abdel Elmaaroufi-Matiz (24), Brian Christopher McDaniel Jr. (20), Catharine Ann McDaniel (18), Bailey Aaron Matiz (18), Elizabeth Marie McDaniel (15), Chase Austin Matiz (15) and Violet Stallard Andrews (14), have many incredible memories with her including long beach walks, collecting sea shells in Kiawah, SC, and Bays Mountain Day Camp.

A graveside memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at East Hill Cemetery in Bristol, VA. The cemetery is located at East State Street and Georgia Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a donation be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association.
